Everything was decent except for the coffee, the first round came lukewarm. But I'm not going to complain, it was a positive experience overall.

This place is darling, very “mountain-town cute.” We are so grateful as the power was out in the entire town and we were starving. They were able to cook some things on the grill and in the fryer and let us know what choices we had. The food was cooked exactly as we requested it, which was a delight and could not have been easy without electricity. The staff was very attentive, my only complaints are that I asked for juice and got a very tall full glass, only to learn that they also offered small juices. I would have liked to know I had a choice of sizes. Also there seemed to be some question about the price if I had paid with card instead of cash, however, I can chalk that up to the confusion with the lack of electricity. I would eat here again.

We love this place! This has become a highlight of our trips back to Denver from the Western Slope. The breakfast is absolutely delicious and fresh, and the service is so attentive. After we left, our car wouldn’t start, and the owner came outside to help us jump the car. We are so grateful for the kind folks who run this restaurant and can’t wait to come back for another tasty breakfast! Thank you Lazy Bear!

Don't eat here if you have somewhere else to be. Worth the wait. Dinner here was excellent. Had the pasta primavera with a cream sauce and shrimp and it was excellent.

During my getaway trip to Newcastle, I had the pleasure of dining here, and it was a fantastic experience! I tried the veggie skillet and the green chili steak skillet, while my boyfriend had the steak and eggs breakfast. For dessert, I indulged in both pancakes and their blintzes. The skillets were the highlight for me—the green chili added a bold and flavorful taste. It wasn’t hot at all so mild chili enjoyers would be safe, especially to the otherwise slightly bland steak. My boyfriend felt the same about his steak and eggs, but overall, we both enjoyed our meals. I also preferred the blintzes over the pancakes, which were good but didn’t stand out as much. The pricing was reasonable at about 20 per person, including a drink and a full meal. The portions were generous and kept us satisfied for the entire day! One thing to note is that this place gets extremely busy on weekends, especially as the morning goes on. Despite the crowd, the staff worked tirelessly and made sure everything ran smoothly. I was impressed by their dedication! What really stood out was a gentleman who appeared to be the owner. He went out of his way to check in with guests and even chatted with neighbors, asking about their day and business. It was a personal touch that made the experience even more special. If you’re in Newcastle, I highly recommend stopping by—especially for their skillets and blintzes. You’ll be well taken care of and leave with a full, happy stomach!
